Why has my silkie hen started to peck her eggs?

I've noticed that my silkie hen has started to peck her eggs. She has done this twice but never actually broke through the egg just pecked at it and cracked the shell. Why is she doing this and what can I do to stop it before she actually breaks through and tastes the egg?.
