Can you tell by the voice?

I understand this is a very specific question, and that I will probably get criticism. But I can't help but notice how for instance, a gay man's voice -can- be very feminine, almost lispy. And take Jodie Foster for example, she has a very laid back, boyish voice. I'm lesbian and have a similar voice. It's very boy-like. I am NOT saying this is always the case; But it has been something I've seen and experienced. Does anyone else agree, and why might this be?
